Red Carpet Awards 2008
A record 164 guests attended the 2008 Red Carpet Awards held as usual at Claridge's.
Editors from Good Housekeeping, Ideal Home, House Beautiful, BBC Homes & Antiques, Living Etc, 25 Beautiful Homes and Period House together with their staff turned out en masse to see who would be recognised for the editorial exposure given to carpet in the last 12 months. In total, 22 magazines, two TV programmes and 30 freelance journalists were present in a veritable 'Who's who' in the home interest market.
Seven awards were given out by a judging panel comprising actress and property expert Fiona Fullerton; interior designer and Sunday Times columnist Andrea Maflin; English Home editor Kerryn Harper; former Daily Express editor Sir Nicholas Lloyd and Carpet Foundation Chairman John Duncan. The winners were:
Best Article/Feature - BBC Good Homes and Homes & Gardens (tied) (Ginevra Benedetti and Linda Parker)
Best National Coverage - Sunday Mirror (Andrea Dean)
Best Makeover - Your Home (Becky Clarke)
Best use of carpet in an interior/decorating scheme - Country Homes & Interiors (Claire Dorey and Lucyina Moodie)
Best TV Programme - ITV 60 Minute Makeover
Best online article - www.idealhomemagazine.co.uk
Best Shopping Item - 25 Beautiful Homes (Rachel Leedham)
Bissell Cleaning & Maintenance - Your Home
Commenting on the Awards, Rupert Anton, CF Marketing Director said: "A turn out on this scale from the media is unheard of both in terms of numbers and quality. Such is the stature and prestige of the Awards that we attract the whole spectrum from magazines, from editors and publishers, to freelancers and style assistants.
We have tremendous relationships with the media and long may it continue!"
