PRACTICAL BENEFITS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER

Apart from the almost endless colour, design, texture, fibre, format and specification options carpet also provides many practical benefits in use: benefits which give carpet the edge over other floorcoverings.

Take the insulation properties of carpet for example. A properly fitted carpet with a good underlay will reduce heat loss and absorb noise. With thermal resistance equivalent to 4.5togs (a summer weight duvet) carpet can greatly reduce a building's energy costs. Noise absorption, important in luxury hotels and airports, is also improved by carpet and underlay, with reductions of up to 45dB achievable. Very useful if you are straining to hear the PA system in a busy public area!

Safety, a big issue for public buildings, is also improved with carpet. The non-slip properties of carpet and its soft forgiving surface coupled with the fact that you don't need to get it wet to clean it makes it ideal for areas of high traffic. The ability to maintain carpet in use is an added benefit for those areas.

These practical benefits, together with ease of installation and replacement, make it no surprise that carpet is the number one choice for commercial applications.
